Atlanta Skeet Shooters League

We are proud to announce the formation of a league geared to ALL levels of shooters and disciplines. We are in no way looking to compete with the Tuesday Night League but make league shooting available to persons who can not commit to one specific night of the week. Our only rule about when you shoot is a participants shoot ahead or behind must be done with another league shooter even though the majority of us will shoot together on Monday or Thursday night. Please submit any questions or suggestions to info@atlantaskeet.com so they may be addressed at the kick off meeting.
Basic Outline:
Interested parties will meet Monday night 4/24 at 7 pm to decide on the rules that will govern the league (there won’t be many). Anyone interested is invited to join the meeting. We will start shooting the following week.
We will shoot a combination of Skeet and MazeClays or 5 Stand and rotate on a weekly basis. Note most of us will shoot together on Monday or Thursday night.
The first league will last 8 weeks.
We will shoot 75 to 100 targets for score each week (total targets to be determined at the meeting)
Entry fee will be $25 to cover Belt Buckles and trophies. Any leftover monies not absorbed by the league will be given to charity (probably St. Jude)
We will shoot Lewis class v/s handicapping to insure every one has a chance. Initially HOA will receive the belt buckles and Lewis will receive the trophies. As participation grows we will look in to giving more belt buckles.
We want to encourage EVERYONE to participate. Yes, you will be shooting with some of the best shooters in the state but we can’t think of a better way for shooters to hone their skills and get pointers from the best.
There will be NO preset teams. As much as this is a social event we also want you to shoot with folks you want to shoot with. If you do not have anyone you would like to shoot with, we can team you up.
Shoot ahead or behinds must be completed within the same week of that weeks match. Each shooter will be given 2 exceptions after that a 3 bird penalty will be subtracted from the shooters average and added to the books.
This is designed to put the fun back in our little group as well as attract others to come out and play. We get e-mails every week from shooters wanting to join the Atlanta Skeet Shooters and no one other than the “regulars” know who we are.
